Bishop's Palace, Somerset

Watery gardens of the Bishop's Palace, beside the Cathedral in Wells, Somerset, shot on a cold, frosty morning with steam rising from the moat and spring waters. A grove of white stemmed birches surrounds a poustinia, a simple shelter in which to reflect upon existence, red stemmed cornus catches light in the dawn sun, and scarecrows gossip in the neighbouring allotments.
