Garden of renowned plantsman Neil Lucas who has done so much to popularise ornamental grasses and educate gardeners on their use in the garden. Situated near the Dorset town of Wimborne Knoll Gardens is a showcase and laboratory as Neil trials grasses and planting combinations across four acres. In autumn feathery flower heads of cortaderias mix with copper tinted leaves of miscanthus, dark purple phormiums and the colourful foliage and berries of ornamental trees like Euonymus europaeus. A naturalistic country garden with lots of lessons for gardeners everywhere, including those with small and urban gardens.
